PARAGON TO ACQUIRE KINDER-HARRIS
September 17, 2010
ALBERTVILLE, AL - Paragon, a leading manufacturer of wall décor, has reached an agreement to acquire high end wall art, lamp, and accessory manufacturer Kinder-Harris currently located in Stuttgart, AR. The product line will be re-launched at the upcoming High Point Market in Paragon’s IHFC C203 showroom along with many new introductions.
“During this period of market consolidation, we have been approached by several companies looking for ways to work together. Kinder-Harris presented us a great opportunity to add a more exclusive line of hand painted artwork to compliment our existing product line. In addition, we will continue to offer the coordinating lamp and accessory products to support their customer base and also offer our accounts these new product categories” stated Lendell Glassco, Paragon President.
Both companies have a long tradition of being industry leaders and combined have won nine of the 21 industry ARTS Awards for excellence in wall décor manufacturing. Kris Lindsey, President of Kinder Harris said “Our goal was to provide a beneficial exit strategy for majority owner Joe Phillips and at the same time find a way to keep the product line and legacy of Kinder-Harris going on in the future. Paragon shares many of our business philosophies and we both feel strongly about keeping our products made in the USA.”
“I am thrilled to have the addition of the higher end look that we will be able to offer to retailers and designers,” said Malanta Glassco-Knowles, Paragon Vice President of Marketing and Design. “Current customers of both Paragon and Kinder Harris will now have the opportunity to broaden their price point and styling assortments without broadening their supplier base”.
Lindsey will join the Paragon team to assure a smooth transition, develop sales, coordinate submissions from existing and new artists, and design new products for the collection. Sales, order fulfillment, and customer service will be handled through the existing Paragon structure beginning October 15. Complete relocation of the Kinder-Harris manufacturing operations to Paragon’s Alabama facility will occur by year end.
